Dear colleagues and friends,

It is with great sadness that we inform you of the death of Dr. Vladimiro Alcaraz on January 28, 2008.  Dr. Alcaraz was instrumental in the formation and implementation of International Pediatric Chat.  He worked tirelessly to promote interaction between pediatricians and child health workers internationally as well as in his home country, Mexico.  He will be missed by many colleagues around the world. We extend our heart felt condolences to his family, and all his friends, patients and colleagues who were touched by his engaging personality and wonderful sense of humor.  His legacy will always stay with us.

Es con gran pesar que notificamos el fallecimiento del Dr. Vladimiro Alcaraz de Hermosillo, México el dia 28 de enero de 2008.  El Dr. Alcaraz fué clave en la formación y mantenimiento del International Pediatric Chat y trabajó con ahinco para el intercambio y colaboración entre pediatras de México y de todo el mundo.  Será extrañado por sus colegas en todas partes del mundo. Extendemos nuestro más sentido pésame a su familia, amigos, pacientes y colegas y a todos aquellos que disfrutaron de su amena personalidad y su encantador sentido del humor. Su legado permanecerá con nosotros para siempre.
